"I can tell you that the U.S. takes practical steps anyway. It is not represented at the table in Minsk but it takes action. There is even the U.S. Department of State Ambassador in charge of Minsk talks, who is present there almost all the time. You can see that Nuland is actually engaged in this process. Who else should I name?" the ex-president said.
Kuchma challenged the wisdom of involvement of more countries in the peace process.
However, he reiterated his opinion that very much depended on President Vladimir Putin of Russia in the settlement of the conflict in the Donbas.
