Demining Center Deputy Head Lt. Col. Oleh Havryliuk congratulated Ukrainian soldiers with the end of the training and obtainment of the international certificates. He said that it was the third group of servicemen who had successfully completed training by the Canadian instructors at the Demining Center this year.
"We greatly appreciate and express our gratitude to our Canadian partners for their support and assistance in improvement of skills of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Demining Center specialists. A total of 89 specialists capable to detect, destroy, and dispose of the improvised explosive devices have been trained according to NATO standards at the Demining Center over the period of cooperation," Havryliuk said.
In turn, Commander of the Joint Task Force-Ukraine Lieutenant Colonel of the Canadian Armed Forces Tim Arsenault thanked Center leadership for the hospitality, fruitful cooperation, perseverance, and professional behavior.
"Combat training is a continuous process while it is only a small part of what you can take from the foreign partners, your own experience, and your fellows-in-arms. Be trusting to everything that you are taught and use the equipment provided to you. It is vital and can save not only your own life but also the lives of others," Lieutenant Colonel Tim Arsenault said addressing the certificate holders and urged soldiers returning to the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area to take care and pay attention to their own safety.
