Unknown persons destroyed three plaques commemorating fallen anti-terrorist operation (ATO) soldiers in Poltava early in the morning of May 29.

Censor.NET reports citing the department of communication of the National police.

The police learned about the first fact of damage to a memorial plaque on May 29 at 1:48 a.m.. A resident of Poltava found a broken plaque at the building of Poltava National Pedagogical University named after Korolenko.

Around 5 a.m. on May 29 another Poltava resident informed the police about a damaged memorial plaque on the building of secondary school №38, established in honor of the school graduate, soldier of the National Guard Oleksandr Mochalov killed at Ilovaisk in 2014.

Another case of damage of a plaque to fallen ATO soldier, graduate of school №9 Serhii Lymar, killed at Starohnativka (Donetsk region) in 2015, has been reported at 7:48 a.m. today.

Opening of criminal proceedings under Article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being discussed.

The police promised to do everything possible to find the perpetrators, head of the Poltava Police Oleksandr Terela said.
