The U.S. Vice President congratulated the Ukrainian President on the liberation of Nadiia Savchenko from Russian captivity. He also praised the work of the president aimed at bringing Nadiia back home. Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to Joseph Biden and Barack Obama for their contribution to the liberation of Nadiia Savchenko.
The head of state praised the G7 decision to continue sanctions against Russia for its aggression against Ukraine. The president also noted the necessity of enhancing sanctions due to regular persecution and violation of rights of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea.
The parties shared views on the developments in Donbas noting the aggravation of the security situation.
