 Tension escalates in ATO area: 30 attacks recorded, militants fired 120-mm mortars, anti-aircraft guns, IFV cannon, - Staff

Situation in the area of anti-terrorist operation (ATO) deteriorated last night. Overall, during the last day, the enemy committed 30 attacks on Ukrainian defenders.

"At dusk, our positions near Avdiivka and Opytne came under intense heavy machine gun, grenade launcher, and 82-mm mortar fire. Closer to midnight, terrorists hit our strong points in that area with 120-mm mortars.

"In Krasnohorivka, pro-Russian gangs used automatic grenade launchers, anti-aircraft guns, with an enemy sniper being active every now and then," the report reads.

As also noted, Ukrainian soldiers in the vicinity of Zaitseve were hit with small arms, grenade launchers, and an IFV cannon.

At the Mariupol direction, terrorists fired 82-mm mortars on ATO forces' positions not far from Shyrokyne, grenade launchers - near Hnutove. In the vicinity of Novotroitske, the enemy employed an anti-aircraft gun.

Near Stanytsia Luhanska, invaders delivered heavy machine gun and grenade launcher fire, according to the Staff.

As also reported, nine enemy reconnaissance drones were spotted over the past day.

"After midnight, pro-Russian gangs continued resorting to armed provocations. At least eight cases of cease-fire violation have been already recorded," the press center added.
