 Searches in Odesa Regional State Administration connected to case on illegal financial transactions, - PGO

The raids in the premises of the Odesa Regional State Administration are carried out within the criminal case into illegal recovery of value added tax by officials of the Consulate General of Georgia in Ukraine in 2012-2013.

Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine (PGO).

The statement reads: "The PGO and SBU investigators are conducting searches within criminal proceedings initiated into the illegal VAT refund by officials of the Consulate General of Georgia in Ukraine in 2012-2013.

The mentioned investigative activities are carried out, including, in the office and house of former Consul General of Georgia Teimuraz Nishnianidze.

"The second set of books indicating possible commission of illegal financial transactions has been seized as a result of the searches. Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko will hear the report of the investigative unit leaders regarding the grounds of the inquiry, the adherence to the law in the course of investigation, and preliminary results in the near future.

"The results of the hearing will be announced later."
