 Poroshenko ready to sign free pardon for Russian GRU soldiers to release Savchenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is willing to sign a free pardon for sentenced Russian GRU servicemen Yerofeyev and Aleksandrov as soon as relevant documents are delivered to him.

The head of state announced it on the UN summit in Istanbul, Censor.NET informs citing UNIAN.

The president stressed that he was ready to recur to any expedient in order to return captive pilot Nadiia Savchenko to Ukraine.

"I am willing to apply all of my constitutional powers to return Nadiia home. So if such request is filed, I will immediately use it. I can reveal a secret that today's talks will be mostly around Nadiia Savchenko issue," Poroshenko said.

The president also noted that this might happen 'by the end of the month.'
