ATO Staff spokesman, Col Roman Drapak said at a press conference in Kramatorsk Crisis Media Center, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"Recently, the enemy has been increasingly using UAVs. In the period between May 1 and 23, 35 instances of enemy drones' passes were registered, four of them involving combat UAVs," he said.
According to the colonel, Ukrainian troops in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) take significant efforts to detect enemy drones and eliminate them.
"If possible, we employ not only small arms but also air defense systems, in particular anti-aircraft guns," Drapak remarked.
In addition, the development of new counter-UAV systems is underway.
"Some samples are being tested at the moment," the spokesman noted.
