France opposes granting visa-free regime to Ukraine, Georgia, Kosovo in near future, - Interior Minister Cazeneuve

French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve believes this is no time for the EU to grant a visa-free regime to Ukraine, Georgia, and Kosovo.

The minister said it on Friday, May 20, during a meeting of the EU interior ministers in Brussels, Censor.NET reports referring to DW.

This issue can not be settled in the coming weeks and months, France doesn't want it, Cazeneuve said, according to dpa news agency.

He is convinced that the EU should carry out a "very strict monitoring" of how these three countries meet the requirements for granting their citizens the right to travel to Schengen countries without visas.
