"Tax squirrels" returned to their bases, replaced by "ghost busters" from SBU, - parliament discusses changes at customs office

"Tax squirrels" (tax officers that have been covering for illegal export of walnuts from Ukraine) at customs office of Ukraine have been replaced by "SBU gangs."

This was announced by Verkhovna Rada committee on tax and customs policy member, Samopomich MP Tetiana Ostrykova, answering a question of PM Hroisman about 'tax squirrels,' Censor.NET informs.

The prime minister was answering a question by an MP about corruption at the customs, so he asked "I was wondering how the 'tax squirrels' are doing?"

"They were 'tax squirrels,' now they are SBU 'ghost busters.' You know these services have great cooperation between them. The former stopped terrorizing businesses, so there appeared SBU gangs that terrorize decent importers at customs office," Ostrikova said.

Hroisman responded that it was not a great victory that the 'squirrels' returned to their bases.

"Each 'squirrel' will get quid's worth - I can guarantee that. This is all within the government's authority."
