 Average salary in Ukraine may be close to €1,000 under proper governance, - Hroisman

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman says the average salary in Ukraine may be close to €1,000, provided proper and quality governance is in place.

He stated this during the presentation of Cabinet's draft action plan, Сensor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"If we look at our European partners, we will see that the average salary in these countries, such as Poland or Slovakia, is about €1,000, while in Ukraine it makes about €150-170. We understand that, in principle, having a huge potential, natural resources, proper and quality governance, Ukraine can achieve these figures, and it will mean that we can be competitive, and people will start getting opportunities for quality life," he said.

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the average salary of Ukrainians in March increased by 7.4 percent to make 4,920 hryvnia (approx. €172).
