As reported by Censor.NET referring to Ukrinform, this was announced by Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov at a rally in Kyiv, dedicated to the 72nd anniversary of deportation of the Crimean Tatar people.
"The Ukrainian society is being united and crystallized as a political nation, and when we become one nation represented by the Ukrainian people and the Crimean Tatar people, none will be able to throw us off the Ukrainian way," Chubarov said.
He recalled that at today's memorial meeting-requiem dedicated to the tragic date of deportation, President Petro Poroshenko stressed the need to discuss and introduce amendments to the chapter 10 of the Constitution of Ukraine "Autonomous Republic of Crimea", which would be fully based on the inalienable right of the Crimean Tatar people to self-determination as part of the sovereign and independent Ukrainian state.
According to the chairman of the Mejlis, "the energy of the Crimean Tatar people multiplied by the energy of the Ukrainian people gives us today strength to say that the Russian-occupied Crimea will be freed, that Crimea is Ukraine, and Ukraine is Europe."
As reported by UNIAN, Chubarov read out a letter by Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Akhtem Chiihoz, which he wrote in Russia's captivity.
"Our people's fate has been faced with multiple challenges, and we have honorably coped with them. Prisons and camps won't break us, searches and arrests won't intimidate us, puppets won't cheat us. Crimea will not exist without the Crimean Tatars anymore," Chiihoz proclaimed.
