"Pure blackmail." Militants refuse to swap Ukrainian hostages before amnesty, - Iryna Herashchenko

Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Speaker, Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Donbas Iryna Herashchenko says militants refuse to exchange Ukrainian hostages before they are amnestied.

As reported by Censor.NET, she wrote it on her Facebook page.

"Minsk. The humanitarian subgroup where the Ukrainian side is represented by me and V. Medvedchuk. Militants already do not hide the fact that the release of hostages may be possible only after the amnesty. Consequently, the illegally held Ukrainians have become real hostages of the "DPR and "LPR". Terrorists hold them haggling over their future. Pure blackmail! Even the OSCE already sees this as blackmail!" the official remarked.

"At the same time, no country in the world grants an amnesty under hostilities. Only after a stable cease-fire regime is implemented. And it must be granted by the Ukrainian authorities and justice that do not perform their duties in occupied territories so far," Herashchenko added.
