Censor.NET reports quoting Russia's Radio Svoboda journalist Anton Naumliuk.
"Karpiuk made his last statement today - one of the most heartfelt and sincere that I've heard in courts. He said he was tried not for the events that happened 20 years ago, but because he was a Ukrainian, and because of what Russia has done to his homeland. He said he felt no anger toward those who had tortured him and forced him to incriminate himself. He spoke of tortures, of how he had finally been intimidated by threats to do the same things with his young son. He expressed gratitude to the Ukrainians for their support, said he felt this care.
"Klykh, with all the problems of perception, said exactly and definitely that he had never been to Chechnya and in any fighting before this process. He showed signs of tortures applied against him during the months of investigation," Naumliuk wrote and added photos made at today's hearing.
