 PPB elects Hryniv as faction chair, - MP Pynzenyk

Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction has elected Ihor Hryniv, the faction's deputy chairman, its new chair.

PPB faction MP Viktor Pynzenyk told journalists, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

55-year-old Hryniv was a research associate of the Lviv State University named after Ivan Franko in 1983-1989. In 1989, he became one of the founders of the People's Movement of Ukraine [Ukrainian center-right political party - ed.]. In 2004-2005, Hryniv chaired the executive committee of Viktor Yushchenko's Our Ukraine and was party's deputy chairman. He is a Verkhovna Rada deputy of five convocations.

In 2014, after Poroshenko was elected president of Ukraine, Hryniv lead the working group preparing his inauguration. On June 18, 2014, he was appointed a freelance adviser to Poroshenko. In July 2014, he took office of deputy head of the Presidential Administration. In the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, Hryniv was included in the PPB's electoral list under No. 14.

After becoming an MP, Hryniv was dismissed as deputy head of the Presidential Administration.

At the moment, he is deputy chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Information and Communications, a member of the Ukrainian part of the NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council, co-chair of the group on interparliamentary relations with Norway, and a member of the group on interparliamentary relations with China.
