 Ukraine’s Armed Forces to receive over 6,000 weapons and military equipment units in 2016, - Defense Ministry

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to acquire more than 6,000 pieces of weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces in 2016.

Deputy Defense Minister, MoD Secretariat Head Oleksandr Dublian said at a briefing, Censor.NET informs citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"The Armed Forces will receive more than 6,000 units of armament and military equipment as well as almost 2.5 million pieces of ammunition in 2016," he said.

According to Dublian, more than 3,100 pieces of equipment and 58,000 pieces of ammunition, including more than 50 mortars, 150 pieces of small arms, 23 armored vehicles, 159 cars, 2,500 fighting knives and more have been purchased for the Army and put into service as of now.
