Rada supports bill allowing Lutsenko to be appointed prosecutor general

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted the bill No 4645 on amending certain legislative acts of Ukraine on Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) activities. The bill will allow Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction leader Yurii Lutsenko be appointed the Prosecutor General.

258 people's deputies voted in favor of the bill, Censor.NET informs.

Earlier today, this voting was put on the parliamentary agenda.

As reported, Yurii Lutsenko is the key candidate for the office of the prosecutor general. He has no law degree, so the law on PGO required additional amendments to make it possible for a person without law degree to take the position.
