Journalist Anatolii Melezhyk found hung after conflict with Hromadske TV-Poltava CEO

Journalist Anatolii Melezhyk was found hanging in a rented apartment in Poltava today, May 11.

National Police Public Relations Department spokesperson Yurii Sulaiev reported, Censor.NET informs citing vpoltave.info.

According to him, the crime scene team that arrived at the scene knocked the door of the apartment. The law enforcement officers are currently examining the scene.

The news outlet also reported that Anatolii Melezhyk had spread information that he was up to commit a suicide. The corresponding post programmed in advance appeared on his Facebook page after his death.


In his post, the journalist asked to blame his death on Hromadske TV-Poltava CEO Bohdan Zviaholskyi.

It was also stressed that according to Bohdan Zviaholskyi, Anatolii Melezhyk was accused of embezzling $800.

The Internet TV editorial staff told TSN that Melezhyk was their colleague until April 23, 2016 but no one stayed in touch with him after his leave.
