An explosion occurred on Shevchenko Street in Kharkiv. The police is trying to figure out the circumstances behind the incident.

Censor.NET reports citing Kharkiv region National Police press service.

"Today, at 3:53 a.m., the Kyiv district police station received a message about a blast that rocked Shevchenko Street. As a result, no person was hurt," the statement notes.

The investigative team of the Kyiv district police station, as well as canine unit, forensic and explosive experts have arrived at the scene.

"The place has been examined. The police have found a crater of 35 cm width-wise and 25 cm deep near the fence outside an administrative building. According to preliminary conclusions, an unknown explosive device equivalent to 400-600 grams of TNT went off," the police noted.

As reported, the information about the incident has been entered in the Unified Register of pre-trial investigations under part 4, article 296 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The police is taking efforts to track down the perpetrators.
