 Police detained several activists attempting to demolish monument to Soviet writer Tudor in Lviv. VIDEO

Members of Right Sector and White Horvats attempted to demolish the monument to Soviet writer Stepan Tudor in Lviv. The action was disrupted by the riot police.

The press service of regional National Police Directorate told Ukrinform, Censor.NET reports.

"The masked activists of Right Sector and White Horvats tried to demolish the monument to Soviet writer Stepan Tudor in downtown Lviv. The riot police detachment arrived at the scene. The policemen prevented wrecking of the monument and provided sensitization to the activists," police spokeswoman Svitlana Dobrovolska said.

According to her, an item resembling a gun was found on one of the activists. He was taken to the Halytskyi police precinct in Lviv.
