Mobile teams will not solve problems at customs. We need political will, - Tuka

A special interdepartmental unit for monitoring the work of Ukrainian customs will not be able to solve the problem of illegal customs clearance of goods.

Deputy Minister for the occupied territories Heorhii Tuka said on 112 TV Channel, Censor.NET reports.

Tuka believes that political will is enough to restore order at the customs.

"When the Prime Minister speaks of mobile groups, we have to understand there are several fundamentally different schemes for customs clearance of goods. Unfortunately, the vast majority of goods that clear customs illegally do not pass through customs offices located directly on the border. So mobile groups will not solve the problem," he explained his opinion.

The majority of goods by value and volume (oil, electricity, ammonia) are not transported directly across the border, so one cannnot follow them. But Tuka noted that special forces can additionally control the trucks, which are numerous as well.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman promised to create an interdepartmental unit to monitor the customs.
