"Let's hope that today's example of Odesa will give all of us an understanding of how important it is to keep a cold head. I would like to ask all those who will in one way or another take part in May 8-9 events - Day of Remembrance for the victims of Nazism for one side and Victory Day for another side - to be balanced and calm," he said.

Shkiriak said that police continued to operate in a high security mode and would respond to any provocation. "I still would like people to remember that today's wearing of St. George's ribbons by Ukrainian patriots is unacceptable, because it is these ribbons that the aggressor came to our land with," he concluded.
