 Rally on occasion of Remembrance Day of Crimean Tatar people deportation victims to be held at Chonhar, provocations possible - Isliamov

The Crimean Tatars plan to hold rally at the place of Crimea blockade to commemorate victims of the Crimean Tatar people deportation.

Head of staff of the civil action to block Crimea Lenur Isliamov told Krym.Realii, Censor.NET reports.

According to him, the remembrance rallies will also be held in other cities of Ukraine. However, the largest one is planned to be held in the Henichesk district of the Kherson region not far from the Chonhar checkpoint at the administrative border with Crimea.

"Crimean Tatars from many regions of Ukraine will gather there. We plan to hold major rally of the Crimean Tatars at the blockade site May 18. A lot of people are going to come from Crimea. We have been deprived possibility to hold it on the peninsula May 18 after all and the Majlis decided that those people who can afford it, should hold rally there to have an opportunity to voice everything they are unable to say in Crimea," head of staff of the civil action to block Crimea said.

He added that the activists expected all sorts of provocations and were ready to deal with them.

"It is not just another average day for us. This is the day when we all are grieving over all the deceased Crimean Tatars. It is the tragedy that has ruined future of several generations of our people. I was born in exile, but had to be born on the homeland," Lenur Isliamov said.
