EU-Ukraine Association Agreement's core not to be changed, MEP Harms says

The core of the agreement on association of Ukraine with the European Union will not be changed following the consultative referendum in the Netherlands.

Co-chairwoman of the Group of Greens/European Free Alliance in the European Parliament Rebecca Harms stated in an interview with Liga, Censor.NET reports.

Rebecca Harms is confident that the EU may lose, if it completely changes the Association Agreement. She believes that no country will negotiate with the EU on association, sign such an important agreement, if a small group of citizens of one of the EU member states can change everything by such a referendum upon completion of the ratification process.

The MEP also advocates that the decisions on major EU treaties are adopted by the qualified majority of countries and citizens at the pan-European referendums.
