 Russian mercenaries committed 29 attacks yesterday, actively used banned weapons, - Staff

The militants of the illegal armed formations fired at the anti-terrorist (ATO) forces’ positions 29 times over the past day including 20 attacks committed between 6 p.m. and midnight.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. April 28.

The latest update reads: "The militants committed several strikes on our positions near Marinka using 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. The enemy sniper attacks were also recorded there. It was tense in the vicinity of Avdiivka as well. The enemy was shelling our fortified positions there with 82-mm mortars."

It was also reported that the militants employed high-caliber machine guns and automatic grenade launchers against the ATO forces' strongholds on the outskirts of Luhanske and Zaitseve villages, located on the Horlivka-Svitlodarsk salient.

At the Mariupol section of the front, the enemy assaulted the Ukrainian troops' positions near Shyrokyne and Novotroitske. The militants also employed 82-mm mortars there.

"It was relatively calm in the Luhansk region yesterday. However, the enemy has already employed grenade launchers and small arms near Shchastia early this morning while our positions in the vicinity of Novotroitske have been shelled with 120-mm mortars," the Staff added.
