President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, the National Guard commander, the chief of staff, and the heads of security agencies took part in the presentation of the new and upgraded weapons, military equipment, and automated fire control systems that was held at the military training area near the village of Divychky in the Kyiv region, Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.
The efficient use of Stuhna and Korsar anti-tank missile complexes as well as powerful Pion self-propelled guns have been demonstrated during the military exercises.
According to NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, the Ukrainian artillerymen demonstrated "high efficiency, rapid deployment, and precise target destruction" in the course of the ongoing exercises on the range. "It took heavy artillery units a bit above 10 minutes in order to be deployed at an operational site, hit the conditional enemy and leave the firing point," he said.
"The advanced means of communication, automated fire control systems combined with computer technologies and unmanned aerial vehicles allow employing powerful weapons very efficiently as it was demonstrated during the use of powerful SP-guns Pion that have completed the task with masterly skill," the NSDC secretary said.
