 Second shooter in Obolon police attack detained, - Kyiv Police Head Kryshchenko

Law enforcers have detained another participant of the shooting upon a police unit in Obolon district in Kyiv. A police officer has received three wounds.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by Main Department of Kyiv National Police Head Andrii Kryshchenko on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.

He noted that at at around 7 p.m. last night a unit of patrol police of special purpose regiment of the National Police in Kyiv stopped two persons for personal identification in Obolon district of the capital. During the check-up, one of the persons opened fire from a traumatic weapon, causing light wounds to a police officer, and ran away. One of the persons was apprehended on the spot, the other one was chased after, Kryshchenko said.

According to Kyiv police chief, special purpose regiment officers, criminal investigation officers, and patrol policemen took part in the chase.

"In 20-30 minutes the criminal was found and blocked. He was fighting back with weapons; police used service weapons, and the man was wounded. He then threatened to commit a suicide, however, police managed to talk him out and neutralized," Kryshchenko said.
