 Active hostilities in Donbas continue: Russian terrorists committed 42 attacks yesterday, - Staff

The Russian-terrorist forces continue assaulting Ukrainian troops in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone.

Censor.NET informs citing situation report by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. April 26.

According to the Staff, the enemy opened fire on the Ukrainian forces' positions 42 times over the past day.

"The militants used 82-mm mortars against the ATO forces deployed near Avdiivka, Vodiane, Taramchuk, Novotoshkivske, Krasnohorivka, and Novomykhailivka. The enemy also employed 120-mm mortars against our detachments in the vicinity of Novotroitske. The mercenaries' shelling of the Ukrainian forces deployed in these villages and cities was constantly backed by attacks with the use of less powerful weapons," the statement reads.

Hostile activities were also reportedly observed near Novozvanivka, Zaitseve, Shyrokyne, Shchastia, Popasna and Stanytsia Luhanska. Most attacks with grenade launchers of various systems, machine guns, and small arms were recorded in Marinka.

"The Ukrainian troops keep holding their positions despite the considerable efforts of the militants. The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to open fire in response 13 times totally yesterday," the Staff noted.
