 Drunk driver hit police officer and border guard in Zakarpattia

A drunk driver hit a police officer and border guard in the Zakarpattia region (Bereznianskyi district).

Censor.NET reports citing the National Police in the Zakarpattia region.

VAZ-2108 hit two pedestrians in the village of Kostryno at about 1 a.m. The driver ran from the scene.

The victims are two local residents of 25 and 22 years. The first man works in the Zakarpattia police, while the second one is a border guard. The police officer was off duty that night.

The border guard was hospitalized with multiply fractures. The police officer got severe brain injuries and fracture of the skull base. He is in intensive care at the moment.

The driver was apprehended soon. He turned out to be a 24-year-old resident of the village of Stuzhytsia (Velykobereznianskyi district). The examination proved an average degree of intoxication. The driver and two his passengers began to threaten police with physical violence during the apprehension.

Bail hearing will be chosen by court.
