 Interior Ministry to enhance public security measures during May holidays. PHOTOS+VIDEO

The National Guard training center in Novi Petrivtsi hosted a meeting chaired by Deputy Interior Minister, Col.-Gen. Serhii Yarovyi, which was attended by heads of central executive bodies coordinated by the Interior Ministry, as well as the meeting of commanders of all National Guard units and heads of territorial departments.

The meeting, in particular, was attended by National Police Chief Khatia Dekanoidze, National Guard Commander Yurii Allerov, Head of the State Service for Emergency Situations Mykola Chechotkin.

The participants discussed the coordination of all Interior Ministry structural units in view of enhanced security measures throughout the state during the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the celebration of Easter, the commemoration of the second anniversary of the Odesa tragedy on May 2, the celebration of Victory Day on May 9.

During all this time, the police, National Guard, and rescue units, which are subordinated to the Interior Ministry, will operate in robust security regime. The ministry is prepared for possible provocations and attempts to destabilize the situation both in the area of anti-terrorist operation and the state as a whole.
