NATO Gen. Peter Pavel has expressed satisfaction with the pace and extent of defense sector reform in Ukraine.

During a working meeting of Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Victor Muzhenko and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Peter Pavel, the sides discussed the current situation in eastern Ukraine and the prospects of its further development.

Separately, they discussed the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the context of their operational capabilities and training of troops in view of anti-terrorist operation experience and transition to NATO standards.

Assessing the extent of implemented reform, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Peter Pavel said he was pleased with what he saw.
