Government will do its best to speed up granting Ukraine visa-free regime with EU, - PM Hroisman

The new Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will do its utmost to hasten granting Ukraine a visa-free regime with the European Union.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports.

"Excellent news! The European Commission has submitted a legislative proposal on visa-free regime for Ukraine. There was a pretty fierce voting in the Verkhovna Rada about a month ago, but we then managed to adopt all the necessary laws. There were those who tried to disrupt the voting. There were skeptics who said that we would not receive a positive decision of the European Union anyway. But our partners have published a conclusion today, by which they confirmed that Ukraine has fulfilled the necessary requirements and has made progress in reforms," Hroisman wrote.

"Now it's up to the European Parliament to decide. Ukraine will continue making painstaking diplomatic efforts on its way to the visa-free regime with the EU. And the new government will do its utmost to speed up the process and promptly simplify travel to the EU for Ukrainians," the prime minister stressed.
