 Russian court sentences Ukrainian hostage Lytvynov to eight and a half years in prison, - lawyer

Tarasovskiy District Court of the Rostov region of the Russian Federation has sentenced citizen of Ukraine Serhii Lytvynov for eight and a half years in a maximum security penal colony.

His lawyer Viktor Parshutkin wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET informs.

According to him, the court found Lytvynov guilty of robbery of Russian citizen Alexander Lysenko.

"The defense has already sent an appeal against the sentence from Moscow by mail. We begin preparing complaints in the interests of Serhii Lytvynov to file them to the European Court of Human Rights," the lawyer wrote.

Lytvynov was initially accused of participation in punitive operations against civilians in the Donbas as member of a paramilitary Dnipro Battalion, mass murder and rape (there were at least 30 men, eight women and one twelve-year-old girl among the alleged victims). Having found neither the bodies nor victims, he was accused of an ordinary robbery of a Russian citizen.
