 PGO set to issue notice of suspicion to Horbatiuk, - MP Leshchenko

Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction MP Serhii Leshchenko says the Prosecutor General's Office intends to notify Serhii Horbatiuk, head of PGO Special Investigations Department, of suspicion of official negligence.

He said this at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"We have learned that a notice of suspicion is to be issued to Mr. Horbatiuk. They try to open criminal proceedings against the head of PGO Special Investigations Department on charges of official negligence," he said.

According to Leshchenko, these actions are aimed at removing Horbatiuk from investigating the Euromaidan cases.

The MP says, the PGO tries to charge Horbatiuk with low quality investigation of the tragic events in Odesa in May, 2014.

Moreover, as a result of pressure from the PGO senior management, one of the Special Investigations Department leaders Ihor Slobodianyk has tendered his resignation, Leshchenko added.
