 Russia has one month to response request for Savchenko’s extradition under Convention, - lawyer Polozov

In accordance with the Convention on the Extradition of Sentenced Persons of 1983, the Russian Federation has got one month to give its response to the request for the extradition of Ukrainian pilot, MP Nadiia Savchenko illegally convicted in Russia.

Lawyer of the Ukrainian servicewoman Nikolai Polozov said on the air of 112 Ukraine TV channel, Censor.NET reports.

Russia has also right to request an additional month to respond.

"The question is when? It is the most urgent, and apparently the one with no answer. Under the Convention, the requested state has to respond within one month, plus it may additionally request another month. However, taking into account the political decisions, these terms can definitely be cut. The only question is whether the Kremlin is willing to fulfill part of its obligations," Polozov said.

He also added that there was still no progress in the admission of both Ukrainian and German doctors to Savchenko.
