Laws on ‘deoffshorization’ to be drafted by June 1, Poroshenko says

The laws on the Ukrainian economy’s deoffshorization - preventing and countering base erosion and profit shifting - will be drafted by June 1. They will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada after that.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at a meeting of the National Reforms Council on Tuesday, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN.

"By June 1, there will be drafting of the laws - a joint one, coordinated with the expert community, with the involvement of the world's best consultants, auditors. Using the world's best practices, the experience of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, we will be able to submit them to the Verkhovna Rada for the agreed adoption," he said.

The president also said that he endorsed the concept of deoffshorization on Monday, April 18.

"I am confident that the members of the State Fiscal Service, the Finance Ministry, Presidential Administration, the Verkhovna Rada will finally be able to take steps that will demonstrate that the world will never be the same as before, and the Ukrainian citizens will have no opportunities to use offshore companies to evade the payment of taxes inside the state," Poroshenko stressed.
