 46 attacks recorded over past day, terrorists used artillery and IFV, - Staff

The armed conflict in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) is underway.

Censor.NET reports citing ATO press center report as of 6 a.m., April 19.

According to the staff, pro-Russian militants and terrorist groups committed 46 attacks yesterday, while 76 attacks had been recorded during the same period the day before yesterday.

"Employing 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, illegal armed units delivered fire at the Donetsk direction in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Novhorodske, and Nevelske.

"At Mariupol direction, the enemy, breaking the Minsk agreements, in addition to mortars, again employed cannon artillery near Berezove and Novotroitske. Kremlin invaders were also active in the area of Marinka. At dusk and at night, Ukrainian soldiers 15 times came under sniper, IFV, small arms, grenade launcher, and mortar fire," the report notes.

In addition, terrorists fired prohibited weapons on ATO forces' positions near Slavne, Taramchuk, and Shyrokyne, while smaller caliber arms were employed near Stanytsia Luhanska, Verkhniotoretske, Triokhizbenka, and Hranitne.

"In order to retain the controlled area, Ukrainian troops were forced to return fire 19 times," the staff added.
