 Poroshenko, Putin discussed situation around Savchenko and Russian GRU officers

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation.

Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov announced, Censor.NET reports quoting RIA Novosti.

In particular, the presidents have discussed the situation around Nadiia Savchenko and Russian GRU operatives Alexander Aleksandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev, convicted in Ukraine.

A consul general of Ukraine will see Savchenko in the near future.

"They discussed the settlement in the south-east of Ukraine, current issues of bilateral relations. They also touched upon the issue of Nadiia Savchenko as well as the fate of Russian citizens Aleksandrov and Yerofeyev. The presidents have agreed on granting the consul general of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don access to Savchenko," Peskov said.
