 National police take oath in Zaporizhia. PHOTOS

Zaporizhia patrol police started to work today, on April 16.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov visited the ceremony at Khortytsia Island, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

509 police officers took an oath and then sang the national anthem of Ukraine.

Roman Pylypenko was appointed as head of the Zaporizhia patrol police.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has mentioned future plans to recruit more police officers in Zaporizhia. Melitopol and Berdiansk are the next towns in line.

In addition, Arsen Avakov awarded five policemen, who have distinguished themselves in the course of the anti-terrorist operation.
