Resumption of cooperation with IMF is first priority for Ministry of Finance, - Minister Danyliuk

Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk considers the resumption of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund the first and foremost priority for Ukraine.

He said in an interview to ZN.ua, Censor.NET reports.

"For obvious reasons, the resumption of cooperation with the IMF is the first priority," he said.

According to Danyliuk, the reform of the public finance sphere should be launched urgently, while the role of the Ministry of Finance should change.

"We need to strengthen the role of the ministry as a functional, system tool for reforms in all spheres. I think that the role of the Ministry of Finance as an engine for reforms was underestimated, and its potential was far from being used to the full," he said.

The Ministry of Finance can encourage reforms in education, medicine, and the social sphere through funding mechanisms, Danyliuk added.

Such things as implementation of the coalition agreement, transparent privatization and qualitative change in the budget process are mandatory for the minister, he said.Источник: https://en.censor.net.ua/n384676
