2016 to see one round of mobilization, - Poroshenko

President Petro Poroshenko excludes holding more than one round of mobilization in 2016.

He said this at the commemorations on the occasion of the 2nd anniversary of setting up volunteer battalions, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.

"When this round of mobilization starts, it will be the last one this year," the president said.

Poroshenko noted that manning the Armed Forces with contract soldiers enabled to delay the new round of mobilization and reduce its projected volumes.

He added that if there is no deterioration of the situation in the Donbas, it will be possible to demobilize those soldiers who were drafted in the course of the 5th and 6th mobilization rounds, while military units will be manned with the contract military.

As reported, Poroshenko predicts a significant reduction in mobilization plans.
