"The U.S. vice president expressed hope that the appointment of the new government will create the necessary momentum to accelerate the systemic reforms in Ukraine in accordance with the program of cooperation with the IMF and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. Biden reaffirmed his country's solidarity with Ukraine and willingness to continue to provide comprehensive support for Ukraine on the way of reforms," the statement notes.
In response, Volodymyr Hroisman emphasized the immutability in the course of reforms in Ukraine and stressed the awareness of the newly appointed government of the need to accelerate the pace and improve the quality of systemic changes in the country. He also expressed gratitude to Joe Biden for his personal role in the U.S. support for Ukraine.
European Parliament President Martin Schulz praised the effective bilateral cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament, which marked the period of Hroisman being the head of the parliament. In turn, the prime minister of Ukraine thanked Martin Schulz for the practical contribution of the European Parliament in the process of strengthening the institutional capacity of the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet and assured him of readiness to maintain this process.
EU High Representative Federica Mogherini stressed the EU joint position in supporting Ukraine in overcoming the current challenges. Volodymyr Hroisman, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the European Commission for its willingness to support the new government in the implementation of key reforms, the modernization of the country, and the fight against corruption.
