 Terrorists opened fire upon Ukrainian positions 80 times yesterday; used 152-mm artillery near Opytne, - Staff

Russian-controlled militant gangs continue conducting armed provocations in the east of Ukraine. However, the situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area remains controlled by the Ukrainian army.

As informed by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in its report as of 6 a.m. April 14, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, pro-Russian militants opened fire against the ATO forces' positions 80 times yesterday: "28 cases of shelling were conducted from mortars of 120-mm and 82-mm calibers near Maiorsk, Pisky, Zaitseve, and Triokhizbenka."

It is noted that the enemy was the most active against Ukraine's defenders in Avdiivka.

"In the direction of Opytne defenses, the ATO forces' strong points were sprayed simultaneously from cannon artillery of 152-mm caliber, mortars of various calibers, and an IFV," the message reads.

It is reported that in violation of the cease-fire, the illegal armed gangs used various weapons against Ukrainian soldiers near Marinka, Butivka mine, Svitlodarsk, Zolote, Luhanske, and Verkhniotoretske.

"During the past day, Ukrainian Army soldiers were forced to open fire 12 times," the Staff noted.
