Former Deputy Prosecutor General Vitalii Kasko, suspected of fraud, said the Prosecutor General's Office prevents him from exercising his professional activity.

He stated this in an interview with 5 Channel, Censor.NET reports referring to Ukrainski Novyny.

"I had no plans to engage in politics, but PGO leaves me no other choice as they prevent me from doing my professional activity," Kasko said.

He believes that all charges brought by the PGO against him are fictitious and aimed at the intimidation of prosecutors.

As noted, former Deputy Prosecutor General Vitalii Kasko faces up to 12 years in prison for appropriating official housing.

As previously reported, on April 10, Kasko was served a notice of suspicion. In particular, he is charged with appropriating an official dwelling of 155 square meters on Druzhby Narodiv Blvd. in Kyiv.
