"The number of attacks on Ukrainian army positions along the contact line remains at yesterday's level and makes 29 cases of weapons use. However, the intensity of banned weapons fire has decreased significantly in comparison with the previous day. In particular, the enemy once fired 120-mm mortars on our defenders in Avdiivka, while strong points in Pisky came under 82-mm mortar fire two times.
"Using grenade launchers, machine guns, small arms, and sniper weaponry, militants repeatedly hit Ukrainian soldiers' strongholds in the vicinity of Stanytsia Luhanska, Nevelske, Opytne, Hnutove, Butivka Mine, Zaitseve, and Marinka. Terrorists attacked our positions in the area of Novotroitske, having fired 35 IFV cannon rounds.
"In order to retain the achieved advantage, our soldiers continue to strengthen their positions, replenish ammunition, military equipment, and gear, take measures to counter enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups.
"On several critical occasions, our troops returned fire on Russian mercenaries," the evening report notes.
