State Duma Speaker Naryshkin: "Russia's war with Ukraine would last a maximum of four days"

State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin said that if Russia had to wage a war with a country comparable to Ukraine by its potential, this conflict would last a maximum of four days.

"As you said, Russia is now waging three wars - in one degree or another it is involved in three armed conflicts. To complete the picture, we must recognize that Germany is also involved in these three armed conflicts and has almost the same status," Naryshkin said, commenting on the speech by political expert Alexander Rahr at a meeting with participants of the Russian-German workshop in the State Duma, Censor.NET reports citing RIA Novosti.

According to him, Germany, like Russia, is also an "international mediator or guarantor of the implementation of the Minsk agreements."

"Alexander, do you believe the statements made by the Ukrainian political leadership that Ukraine is fighting with Russia? If for some reason Russia had to wage war, to resist the aggression of a country being comparable to Ukraine in its capacity, I hope that all understand how many days the conflict would last - two, three, a maximum of four days. And everyone understands how this conflict would end," Naryshkin noted.

"Russia is really involved - and the whole world can see how Russia is involved in this severe bloody conflict [in Syria - ed.]. Russia has a small coalition of partners: Iran, the Kurdish rebels, and the government army. But Germany is also a party to this conflict, in another alliance, in the coalition, however, the results of actions of that coalition are not clear yet," Naryshkin remarked.
