He said answering the questions of foreign journalists at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.
"My dream is that all the countries will support Ukraine and lift the sanctions only after Russia withdraws its troops, when there will be peace and stability in my country, and after the Russian troops leave Crimea," Poroshenko said.
According to the president, sanctions are closely related to fulfillment of the Minsk agreements by the Russian Federation.
"I have every confidence that Ukraine will be one of the main topics on the agenda of the G7 leaders' meeting. We are discussing, and they will as well discuss the efficient tools to motivate Russia to implement the Minsk agreements, to withdraw its troops and to restore Ukrainian sovereignty in the occupied territory. The sanctions are the tool," Poroshenko stressed.
