Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Staff press center as of 6 a.m. April 6.
The Staff has recalled that the terrorists committed 61 attacks the day before yesterday, while 120-mm and 82-mm mortars banned by the Minsk agreements were employed in 23 of them.
"The Donetsk section of the front line was the hardest for the ATO forces to hold positions at. The Ukrainian soldiers managed to hold out in spite of the massive strikes with heavy weaponry combined with attacks with grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms. Their accurate retaliation fire efficiently curbed the enemy aggression spoiling all its chances of success," the statement reads.
It is also noted that Avdiivka remains impregnable for the enemy: "The illegal armed groups attacked the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 22 times during the mentioned period. The defenders of Ukraine control the situation being always a step ahead of the enemy despite its considerable efforts."
It is also reported that the ATO forces' positions near Luhanske, Zaitseve, Opytne, and Pisky were shelled with weapons banned by the Minsk agreements.
At the Mariupol section of the front, 35 mortar shells launched by the illegal armed groups hit the ATO forces' positions near Shyrokyne, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Krasnohorivka.
