Batkivshchyna goes into parliamentary opposition, leader Tymoshenko says

Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has announced that her faction joins the parliamentary opposition.

Tymoshenko said during her visit to Lviv today, Censor.NET informs citing the press service of the political party.

"Today, I can announce a consolidated decision made by our political force. We have decided to come out of the hopeless negotiations on the creation of a new coalition. We are going into a democratic, pro-European opposition," she stressed.

"We are waging a steadfast fight against the old system, against the merger of the new post-Maidan government into the old oligarchic mafia. We are waging a fight against the destruction of Ukraine's economy, against ruining of life of every Ukrainian family," the faction chairwoman said.

Tymoshenko also noted that her political team in the parliament would continue supporting the legislative intentions "critical for the state".

"If the parliament is adopting bills crucial for the country, able to help the people in this tough time, our team in the parliament will support what we believe to be right and necessary," she added.

Batkivshchyna leader believes that joining the opposition is the only right decision under the current social and economic conditions.

"Otherwise, as a democratic force, we can become a screen cover to this outrage, which is taking place behind the scenes," Tymoshenko said.
