PGO files criminal case against ex-Deputy Prime Minister Voshchevskyi

Members of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Prosecutor General’s Office are conducting seizure of documents under criminal proceedings initiated against former Deputy Prime Minister Valerii Voshchevskyi.

This is evidenced by the decision of the Pechersk district court in Kyiv of March 22, Censor.NET reports citing Nashі Hroshі project.

According to investigators, Valerii Voshchevskyi contributed undeclared 11.9 million hryvnias (about $1.5 million) to the authorized fund of the development company Zhytlobudіnvest LLC in 2011 (the court ruling did not specify whether it was the contribution or the funds that were not declared in the Tax Return).

He headed the company later and started constructing houses with gross violations of state building codes using his official position, which constituted threat to life and health of people.

In particular, Nashі Hroshі project reported on the construction of building between Novoselytska and Buslavska Streets in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. Zhytlobudіnvest erected a nine-storey building instead of a four-storey one.

The criminal case No. 42015000000001677 was registered Aug. 6, 2015, when Voshchevskyi still occupied the position of deputy prime minister. However, the court made its decision on access to documents at the request of the PGO investigators only March 18, 2016.

It should be reminded that Valerii Voshchevskyi was Deputy Prime Minister in the government headed by Arsenii Yatseniuk from December 2014 until September 2015 under the quota of Oleh Liashko's Radical Party. He was a Radical Party faction MP prior to that.

Voshchevskyi tendered his resignation in September 2015, explaining this by the decision of the Radical Party to withdraw from the coalition.

Voshchevskyi declared 21,090,000 hryvnias contributed to the authorized funds of different enterprises in his Tax Return in 2014. Voshchevskyi was Chairman of the Board of Avtomobilni dorohy Ukrainy state joint-stock company in 2005-2006 and 2008-2010.
